Things that fascinate me

Bad Apple, bad.

So I signed up for the iPhone Developer Program, and within minutes I got an email telling me to go to a web page for further information.

That website told me how to download Quicktime Pro, but had no mention of iPhone or anything related. A few clicks later, I went back to The Apple Developer Connection site, which told me I would need to activate my account, using a code in an email I might not have received yet. Indeed I hadn’t. “Within 24 hours,” they said. “Fine,” thought I and patiently waited.

20 hours later, someone called “Dear Bjšrn Kristinsson” got an activation code and a link. Huzzah!

“Thank you for applying to the iPhone Developer Program. To activate, simply click on the Activation code link below.”

That’s easy, I can do that. So I did.

“We are unable to activate your iPhone Developer Program membership”, responded they. Adding: “We are unable to activate your iPhone Developer Program membership because we are unable to successfully verify your identity. Please contact us and reference Enrollment ID# <REDACTED> for further assistance.”

“…” said I. Reluctantly I opened up the linked-to contact form and filled in my information.

Since then I’ve received one email from Apple, inviting me to join their exciting iPhone Developer Program.

I’m trying, Apple, I really am.
